Aside from producing Highland wear, Geoffrey (Tailor) also boasts its own Tartan Weaving Mill based in Edinburgh’s city centre next to Edinburgh Castle. The Mill offers a spectacular tourist experience offering the opportunity to view tartan cloth in the making.  The Mill also offers a range of high quality Scottish merchandise, both for personal shopping and corporate gifts.

It's a great experience! You can feel and touch the threads that are prepared for weaving - see and hear the amazing high speed powerlooms in action, and the history of Highland dress through the ages.

There's all the excitement, noise and bustle that you would expect inside a working mill.

In this historic converted reservoir there are five stories to explore, but your visit would not be complete without taking advantage of the chance to truly buy direct from this Geoffrey (Tailor) mill. Our shop is a colourful showcase of the tartans we weave, and you’ll find a wonderful selection of goods on display.

Highland dress and accessories, quality Scottish gifts, jewellery, scarves & rugs, woollens and unusual gifts are all available. Our expert friendly staff will advise on all your gift, tartan or Highland dress requirements. These traditional products are supported by the most modern technology, for instance, our ‘Clans and Tartans Bureau" can provide all information on Tartans and produce computer printouts for Clan Histories and Tartan Design which, like all our goods, can be mailed world-wide.

You can even dress up in Ancient Scottish Costume and have a beautiful photo taken! Outfits available for all the family!
